Security Analytics Engineer
Own the data, telemetry, and risk scoring behind every finding.
// about the role
unpwnd is a security company building an autonomous purple team — a swarm of AI agents that audits code, proves what it finds, and hands back the fix. Every audit throws off signals; the product’s credibility rests on turning them into scores people can act on. You’ll own that pipeline end to end.
// what you’ll do
- Own the data model behind findings: signals in, defensible risk scores out.
- Build the telemetry that shows a scan working and proves what it found.
- Design risk scoring with traceable inputs and honest confidence.
- Turn noisy auditor output into metrics the product and the customer can rely on.
// what we’re looking for
- Strong data engineering — pipelines, warehousing, SQL that isn’t afraid of a window function.
- You’ve built scoring or ranking systems and can defend why they rank what they rank.
- You instrument before you claim, and you’re skeptical of your own numbers.
- Exposure to security, risk, or detection domains.
// bonus
- Streaming / event pipelines at volume.
- Detection engineering or SIEM work.
- Postgres past the point where it gets interesting.
// how we hire
A short async intro, a paid work sample on a real problem, then conversations with the team. No whiteboard trivia, no take-home marathons.
